NASCAR fan climbs Darlington catchfence to celebrate Brad Keselowski’s win
Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports

One NASCAR fan was very happy to see Brad Keselowski win his first race since 2021. After Keselowski took first place at the Goodyear 400, a fan was spotted climbing the catchfence to celebrate. Fans had a lot to say after seeing the fan’s actions.

“Meanwhile if I stop to take a peek at cars going by I have 5 guards yelling at me to keep walking,” one fan wrote on social media.

“NASCAR is so back!” another person added.

After having two consecutive second-place finishes in April, Keselowski broke through and won for the first time in 110 races. “What a heck of a day. It’s Darlington, so whether it’s your first win, your last win, this is a really special track,” he said. “The history of NASCAR, it’s as tough as it gets, and that battle at the end with my teammate Tyler Reddick, we just laid it all out on the line, it was freaking awesome. I thought it couldn’t get much better than Kansas. It did today. That was awesome. I’m so glad you guys got to see that.”

Brad Keselowski wins for the first time as an owner

Keselowski has had a strong 2024 season before Darlington, but a win helps his chances of winning his second Cup Series title. The victory is Keselowski’s first since he became co-owner of RFK Racing in 2022.

“I take as much pride in anything as helping the people and being on teams and seeing the 19-, 20-year old kid that comes in as an intern and watching them learn something or seeing the 23-year-old that just graduated college and didn’t make the NFL draft but comes in as a pit crew member and is now going over the wall and has a good job and does a great job,” Keselowski said during his post-race press conference on Sunday. “I take as much about that as I do my own success because it feels so good to leave a positive mark on others that way.

“So it’s just another chapter for me. I don’t know what the next chapter will be. I’m not done with this one. I hope I’ve got a lot more pages to write. Took a little longer than I would have liked to have to have gotten an official run, although I did win the Duel right there right out of the gate, but I guess that doesn’t count, does it.”
